Updated: Feb 18

The ICC's peripheral ODI competition the Champions Trophy is set to return for the first time since 2017.

Pakistan was due to host the tournament solo but when India stated their decision to not travel to the country a hybrid tournament alongside the UAE...the perennial backup tournament hosts.

Lahore is due to be the site of the final, unless India makes the final in which case Dubai will host the final showdown.

Whilst the Champions Trophy represents cricket's Carabao Cup to the FA Cup - it always gives teams a chance to get their hands on silverware - it's been one of the rare tournaments that New Zealand and South Africa have won.

This tournament has already been marked by the sheer numbers of absentees already. Some huge names will miss out including Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, Anrich Nortje and Lockie Ferguson. Marcus Stoinis also made waves by retiring from the format after having been selected in the Australia squad.

Fakhar Zaman made himself a hero in the final of the last final against India - but who will make themselves a hero this time?

With so many years since the last competition, let's see how much of the previous eight editions you remember with our quiz!
